The Board has been attempting to distinguish between governance and management functions so that it can concentrate on governance and delegate the management functions to staff. In furtherance of this effort, the AEU hired an Executive Director, a CEO, to serve as the link between the governance and management in January, 2003. The Executive Director is leaving as of July 20, 2005, to pursue a different career path. The AEU Board is soliciting candidates to fill the Executive Director position on an interim basis, period to be negotiable not to exceed 2 years. Major skills needed for the position include strategic ! ! planning, fund raising, staff management, program development, and communication.
