From announce at aeu.org Fri Mar 5 00:16:45 2004 From: announce at aeu.org (announce@aeu.org) Date: Tue Sep 27 23:05:59 2005 Subject: [AEU Announcements] False Alarm Message-ID: <6.0.3.0.2.20040304190608.04d8fa40@pbat.com> A few people on AEU email lists have received an email purporting to be from the AEU and alerting you to a problem with your email account, with an attachment that purports to be a virus checker. There is usually a password in the email. The email is clever, but it is a ruse to get you to open a file that will result in a virus or worm being activated on your system. This is in no way being sent from the AEU.org domain, nor is there any way to prevent such spoofing. Please remember (a) to have antivirus software and keep it up to date if you use email, to avoid being infected and infecting others, and (b) not to open attachments unless there is solid evidence that it was deliberately sent. ----------- Jone Lewis AEU volunteer webmaster webmaster@aeu.org jj@pbat.com http://www.aeu.org http://www.ethicalculture.org/ From announce at aeu.org Fri Apr 23 15:44:03 2004 From: announce at aeu.org (announce@aeu.org) Date: Tue Sep 27 23:05:59 2005 Subject: [AEU Announcements] Texas Supreme Court Refuses to Hear ESOA Case Message-ID: <6.0.3.0.2.20040423114216.06ebb6b0@pbat.com> April 23, 2004. Earlier today we received notice that the Supreme Court of Texas has denied the State of Texas petition to review the tax-exempt status case they brought against the Ethical Society of Austin. The State of Texas may now appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court however, the attorneys for the Austin Society have "confidence" the Court would not accept. The State of Texas has just a few weeks to make this appeal. John F.
