RE: Thirteenth Annual AEU Society Growth and Development Conference
"Stronger Societies for a Stronger Ethical Movement"
November and 2, at Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture
Year after year, the annual AEU Society Growth and Development conference
receives great reviews from its participants. We hope you will be able to
join us this year for a chance to meet people from other Societies who are
interested in growth and in strengthening their Societies. You will have a
chance to network and exchange ideas with like minded individuals. You will
also learn techniques that can help your Society function better. We
encourage you to attend and to encourage other lay leaders of your Society to
attend the 2002 Society Growth and Development Conference.
Each Society may select as many people to attend as they choose. Perhaps your
Society can subsidize the registration fee to make it possible for several
lay leaders to attend. Up to two members from Societies 300 miles or more
from New York will have the cost of their airline, bus, or train ticket
subsidized by the AEU Membership Committee with a $75 deductible. However,
since our budget for subsidies is quite limited, this offer is conditional
upon participants seeking the least expensive tickets (e.g., with discounts
for advance purchase, non? refundable, staying over Saturday night).
This year's program will address some key ways to help your Society grow in
membership as well as to become more dynamic and more effective. This is an
opportunity for you and other lay leaders to brush up on your knowledge of
congregational development and to gain access to new ideas and materials for
many aspects of your Society's functioning and programs. It is also an
opportunity to get to know members of other societies dealing with similar
challenges and to share ideas, experiences, problems and solutions.
This workshop will be held at the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture, 53
Prospect Park W., Brooklyn, NY See details in the enclosed brochure. Home
hospitality is available. To facilitate our making arrangements for you,
please register as early as you can.
We request you to particularly encourage those lay leaders and committee
chairs to attend whose participation in this conference would most enhance
the effectiveness of your Society. We hope you and key members of your
Society will be able to attend this conference. We would also appreciate
your Society bringing a display of your Society's success stories, effective
brochures, programs, advertisements, etc., that you would like to share.
